Knowledge Translation at MSFHR

Significant gaps exist between what is known to improve health and what is done to improve health.

As BC’s health research support agency, MSFHR is well placed to help close these gaps, partnering with the health research community to move evidence into practice and policy through knowledge translation (KT).

This role is integral to our vision - health research improving the health of British Columbians, their health system and their economy – and formalized in our Strategic Direction 2009-2015 (pdf).

What's New?

The success of our KT initiatives is largely dependent upon the BC health research community and current and new partnering organizations in this province and across Canada. We distributed an online KT needs assessment survey in March to determine individual needs and interests for training and resources in BC related to the effective use of health research evidence in health care practice and policy. The preliminary results of the survey are available in this report.
