MSFHR at a Glance

Vision

World-class health research improving the well-being of British Columbians, their health system and their economy.

Mission

To strengthen the BC health research enterprise through innovative, integrated services and programs that

  • create and maintain a vibrant health research environment
  • mobilize stakeholders to identify priorities and address health and health system priorities
  • build capacity for excellent health research

Strategic Direction

Our 2009 strategic plan development process had five phases: environmental scanning, staff engagement, Board engagement, stakeholder consultations, and finalization.  The first three phases resulted in a draft strategic framework document.

From April to June, we met with stakeholders across sectors and the province to discuss what we proposed and gathered more feedback through an online survey on this site. Your feedback enabled us to provide our Board with a revised document in July 2009 – moving from a strategic framework to strategic direction.
