Donald Sin

Dr. Sin received his medical degree and completed his residency in Internal Medicine and Respiratory Medicine at the University of Alberta. He also holds a Master of Public Health degree from Harvard University. Dr. Sin was recruited to UBC in 2004 as a Canada Research Chair in COPD and a GlaxoSmithKline/St. Paul’s Foundation Professor of COPD. Dr. Sin is a Professor of Medicine at UBC, the inaugural De Lazzari Chair at the Centre for Health Lung Innovation, and a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in COPD. He is also a staff respirologist at St. Paul’s Hospital and the Head of Respiratory Medicine at Providence Health Care in Vancouver. Dr. Sin is ranked the top medical expert in COPD across North America and second in the world (http://www.expertscape.com/ex/copd/p/earth).

Dr. Sin has published more than 450 peer-reviewed papers and is the section editor of COPD for the European Respiratory Journal. He serves on the Editorial Boards of Chest and the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, and on the Scientific Committee of GOLD. Dr. Sin has an H-index of 92.
