The BCNRI is designed to achieve better health outcomes for British Columbians and a high-quality work life for nurses by supporting practice-relevant health services research focused on the roles of nurses within the context of the broad health services practice community.

The Research Project Program builds linkages and collaborations among academics, nurses, and the broad health services practice and policy communities to develop, conduct, and apply the findings of practice-relevant health services research that addresses one of three BCNRI priority areas:

  • Nursing health human resources
  • Practice-relevant education
  • Quality and safety of the practice (work) environment

Proposals for this program underwent a rigorous review process by an external expert panel before being approved by the MSFHR Board.

BCNRI supports four additional programs: Partnership, Commissioned Research, Nursing Research Facilitator, and Nursing Health Services Research Network (InspireNet). Read more about these programs.
