    Supported through grants totalling $16 million from the BC Ministry of Health Services, the HSPRSN funds and builds capacity for health services and policy research that focuses on health system evaluation, redesign and innovation.

  • BC Nursing Research Initiative

    The BC Ministry of Health Services provided $8 million to MSFHR to develop the BC Nursing Research Initiative to support practice-relevant health services research related to the nursing workforce and associated policy initiatives.

  • Ethics Harmonization

    MSFHR led a BC-wide process for exploring opportunities and stakeholder interest in developing a more effective, coordinated provincial approach to ethics approval of research involving human subjects.

  • BC Healthy Living Alliance Evaluation

    MSFHR is facilitating the evaluation of seven health promotion and population health initiatives across BC currently being implemented by members of the BC Healthy Living Alliance in support of the provincial government's ActNow BC initiative.

  • HPV Vaccine Research

    At the request of the BC Provincial Health Officer, MSFHR is providing oversight and accountability mechanisms for a research project related to a vaccine for the human papillomavirus (HPV), a leading cause of cervical cancer.

  • BC Immunization Program Evaluation Research Project

    A special competition, held in 2008, for research operating funds to support immunization program evaluation research in British Columbia.
