BC Healthy Living Alliance Evaluation of Initiatives

MSFHR has entered into an agreement with the BC Healthy Living Alliance (BCHLA) to facilitate the evaluation of seven health promotion initiatives being implemented by the alliance’s members. The initiatives are designed to deliver activities across the province in three key areas that underlie much of the chronic disease burden in BC: healthy eating, physical activity, and living smoke-free. The evaluation will be conducted alongside the initiatives’ implementation, through to spring 2010.

The BCHLA is funded by ActNow BC, a cross-ministry health and wellness initiative that promotes healthy living choices to improve the quality of life for all British Columbians. Member organizations of the BCHLA include:

  • BC Lung Association
  • BC Pediatric Society
  • BC Recreation and Parks Association
  • Canadian Cancer Society, BC and Yukon Division
  • Canadian Diabetes Association
  • Dietitians of Canada, BC Region
  • Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC and Yukon
  • Public Health Association of BC
  • Union of BC Municipalities
