Part VI: Plan Elements

To support health innovation and change and enhance economic growth, B.C.'s research community developed two sets of recommendations. The first is a set of general recommendations for building research capacity and the second is a series of recommendations specific to four capacity-building programs.

  1. Human resource development
  2. Institutional infrastructure and networking support
  3. New opportunities/regional development programs
  4. Research space development
These programs are designed to address an urgent need to restore B.C.'s ability to secure a per capita share of new federal health research funds. When fully implemented, they will position B.C. to take advantage of future opportunities in all sectors and to bring home funding that exceeds our per capita share.
