The BC Directory of Health Researchers and Trainees (www.bchealthresearchers.org) is the province's first multi-disciplinary, multi-institution inventory of BC-based individuals working and training in health-related research.
Developed by the Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research, the Directory can be used to locate BC-based health researchers with specific research expertise and interests, and to facilitate networking between health researchers. It is a resource for government and health authorities who seek research information, expertise and evidence to help guide their decision-making. More broadly, the Directory can also be used as a tool for assessing the strengths, gaps and research needs within BC's health research community and point to initiatives to build BC's competitiveness for national and international funding.
The data source for the Directory is the Common CV (CCV), a web-based CV tool used by researchers and trainees across the country to manage their CV information. The Directory is updated whenever members of the Directory update their information within the CCV.
MSFHR launched the BC Directory of Health Researchers and Trainees in September 2006 (read the announcement). More information about the Directory is available in the FAQ; also see How to join the BC Directory (PDF).
