Danielle Lavallee

VP, Research Programs

As vice president, research programs at Michael Smith Health Research BC, Danielle oversees the organization’s research portfolio, and directs the research strategy, funding programs and strategic partnerships to maximize British Columbia’s investments in health research.

 

Danielle is a patient-oriented researcher and leader with expertise working across health system and academic communities to support health care transformation.

 

Over the past 15 years, Danielle has centred her work to advance methods that incorporate patient and stakeholder perspectives into both clinical care and research conduct. Her research includes assessing diverse stakeholder experiences with technology-enabled approaches to supporting care, integration and governance of patient generated health data into healthcare systems, and methods for supporting patient involvement research conduct.

 

Danielle provides leadership across the organization to foster a patient-oriented approach to research and learning health systems. She is an adjunct professor at UBC’s School of Population and Public Health, and affiliate associate professor in the department of Health Systems and Population Health at the University of Washington. Danielle holds a Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Kansas and a PhD in Pharmaceutical Health Services Research from the University of Maryland, Baltimore.
