Adrienne Chan

Dr. Adrienne Chan holds a PhD from the University of Kent at Canterbury, England. She is the associate vice-president of research, engagement and graduate studies at the University of the Fraser Valley (UFV) and has been a faculty member in UFV’s School of Social Work and Social Services since 2004. An active researcher, Chan’s primary research interests have focused on higher education, institutional change, child welfare and issues of equity and diversity. In 2015, she was successful as the principal investigator of a Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) operating grant – Pathways to Health Equity for Aboriginal People, Component 1. In 2017, she received a Pathways Component 2 grant, and has been working extensively with First Nations bands and communities in the Fraser Valley and a research team on youth suicide prevention.
