MSFHR’s 2019 funding competition schedule
10 September 2018
As BC’s health research funding agency, MSFHR’s core focus is talent development. We offer a suite of funding programs that help develop, retain and recruit the talented people whose research improves the health of British Columbians.
Since 2001, we have funded more than 1,700 individual researchers and 120 research teams through MSFHR funding programs, and supported many more through special projects and match funding. Via these outstanding health researchers we support discovery-based research and the translation of that research to new treatments, cures, practices, and solutions that improve the health of British Columbians.
Today, MSFHR is pleased to announce the 2019 funding competition schedule.
For those familiar with our previous funding cycles, please note:
- The 2019 Research Trainee competition has moved forward this cycle and will launch in early December 2018.
- The 2019 Convening & Collaborating (C2) and Reach competitions will now run concurrently and launch in early April 2019.
2018 marks 25 years since our namesake, Dr. Michael Smith, received his Nobel Prize. A pre-eminent BC scientist, Dr. Smith had a long-standing commitment to supporting emerging research talent, developing scientific excellence, and building research capacity in BC. MSFHR is proud to continue his legacy with every funding award we issue.
