Applications open: First Innovation to Commercialization awards

7 February 2017

Applications are now open for MSFHR’s first Innovation to Commercialization (I2C) Awards. The I2C Program is part of a refreshed suite of programs, designed to address priorities and gaps in BC’s health research and innovation ecosystem.

The I2C Program has been specifically designed to strengthen the health innovation to commercialization pathway in BC. Each I2C award will support BC health researchers advancing discoveries or inventions towards commercialization by providing funding for feasibility research and commercialization activities.

The goal is to help researchers bridge the gap between discovery and practical application, strengthening the value of their intellectual property, facilitating collaboration and attracting future investment – ultimately resulting in products or technologies that improve health outcomes and enrich the health innovation ecosystem of BC.

Each I2C award will provide funding for up to four years to support activities directly related to implementation of a commercialization plan, which may include both salary support and commercialization-related expenses.
