Consultation on new funding programs nearing completion

14 June 2016

Regional consultation on MSFHR’s expanded suite of funding programs continues to move forward.

Our staff will be on site at Simon Fraser University on June 17, at Fraser Health on June 20, in Kelowna June 22 and 23, and at the First Nations Health Authority on July 5.  Additional program-specific consultations are planned in Vancouver to build on three information sessions held in May.

The response to previous sessions has been enthusiastic, and we appreciate the community’s interest in MSFHR’s funding programs. Feedback received to date has been highly insightful and will be a valuable resource for MSFHR Research Programs staff as they work to finalize program guidelines and eligibility criteria.

At the conclusion of the consultation process, we will share with all participants a summary of regional feedback to highlight key themes and demonstrate how they are reflected in the final design of our new programs. This update is expected to be circulated to participants in mid-July.

We also plan to announce a competition calendar in mid-July with key dates and deadlines for programs expected to launch in 2016. To ensure researchers have sufficient time to prepare their applications, we are committed to sharing program timelines as soon as they become available. Updates will be posted to MSFHR’s website, circulated via our Connections mailing list, and shared on Twitter and LinkedIn.

In addition to the new programs undergoing consultation, MSFHR will be offering the Scholar Program and Research Trainee Program on an annual basis as part of the expanded suite. Launch dates for these programs are expected to be communicated in mid-July as part of MSFHR’s overall competition calendar.
