Dr. John Challis retiring as MSFHR President & CEO

MSFHR President & CEO Dr. John Challis is retiring from the Foundation as of July 1st, 2011, when his contract comes to an end. Dr. Challis will continue with his internationally recognized research in the fields of obstetrics and gynecology.

“I know the health research community will join me in wishing John well in his future endeavors,” says Dr. Martin Taylor, MSFHR Board Chair and President and CEO of Ocean Networks Canada. “On behalf of the MSFHR Board of Directors, I want to acknowledge and thank John for his leadership of the Foundation over the past three years.”

Dr. Bruce Clayman will provide interim leadership for the Foundation, working with the support of the MSFHR Board and senior management. Dr. Clayman has served as SFU’s Vice President, Research and Dean of Graduate Studies and is a founding member of the MSFHR Board, which he chaired from 2007-2009.

MSFHR’s Board of Directors will begin a search process shortly for a permanent President and CEO for the Foundation.
