MSFHR is seeking a Scientific Director

22 June 2018

MSFHR is currently looking for an experienced researcher to fill the newly-created position of Scientific Director. The right candidate will be excited to turn their attention to the “science of research funding” – an increasingly important focus for funders committed to understanding and responding to the ecosystem in which they work.

The Scientific Director will develop a research agenda for the Foundation that helps determine and study what we fund, how we support the translation of evidence into practice and policy, and how we help strengthen the health research environment in BC. In addition, this role will be responsible for day-to-day management and oversight of a portfolio that includes research programs and competitions, knowledge translation, strategic planning, partnership, and evaluation and impact analysis.

“Increasingly, funders like MSFHR are moving from a ‘fund and forget’ model to a ‘help-it-happen’ approach,” says Dr. Bev Holmes, President and CEO. “Our new scientific director will bring their expertise and insights to maximize MSFHR’s role as a responsive and responsible research funder.”
