MSFHR welcomes Dr. Diane Finegood
1 March 2012
The Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research (MSFHR) is pleased to welcome our new President & CEO Dr. Diane Finegood, who officially began her tenure March 1.
Dr. Finegood is an internationally recognized scientist, innovator, communicator, strategic visionary, and proven leader in health research. Prior to joining MSFHR, Dr. Finegood served as inaugural Scientific Director of the CIHR Institute of Nutrition, Metabolism and Diabetes, and as Executive Director of the CAPTURE Project (Canadian Platform to Increase Usage of Real-World Evidence). She is also a professor in the Department of Biomedical Physiology and Kinesiology at Simon Fraser University.
“I am thrilled at this opportunity to lead MSFHR into its second decade,” says Dr. Finegood. “It is a privilege to step into the role of President & CEO of an organization that takes its name from BC’s Nobel Laureate, Dr. Michael Smith. His creativity and passion will inspire me as I take on the many challenges of my role and seek out new opportunities.”
At this time, MSFHR also thanks interim President & CEO Dr. Bruce Clayman for his dedicated leadership over the past eight months.
