Regional forums scheduled for May and June

18 May 2016

Our staff have been hosting forums for researchers, health care providers and other stakeholders around the province during the month of May as part of MSFHR’s plans to roll out an expanded suite of funding programs throughout the coming year.

These on-site forums are being planned in coordination with academic and health system leaders in each BC region and include a presentation that outlines the details of each proposed program, as well as time for participants to ask questions.

Working with regional partners, MSFHR staff has hosted four sessions to date: one in Prince George on May 10 and three in Vancouver (May 11, 17 and 18). Due to the size and complexity of the health research community in Vancouver, program-specific consultations for our expanded suite of funding programs are currently being planned. Dates will be announced as soon as they are available.

A session is planned for May 19 in Victoria. Tentative dates have been set for June 22 and 23 in Kelowna and June 17 for SFU. A date for Fraser Health will be available soon.

We are excited by the enthusiastic response to these programs and the great feedback from participants. MSFHR is committed to reporting back to participants on the main themes emerging from these meetings.
