Mitacs builds partnerships between academia, industry and the world — to create a more innovative Canada. As a national, not-for-profit organization that has designed and delivered research and training programs for 20 years, Mitacs works with more than 100 post-secondary institutes, 6,000 companies, and both federal and provincial governments. Mitacs includes all research disciplines and has expanded in response to industrial and university needs, including programs in R&D management, professional skills development and international research training.
Mitacs Accelerate Internships
Mitacs Accelerate supports collaborative research between faculty, graduate or post-doctoral research interns (trainees) and a non-academic partner that has committed to hosting the trainees for an experiential learning opportunity. Faculty receive flexible funding for new collaborations and experiential training for their trainees. Mitacs Accelerate grants start at $15,000 per four-month segment through co-funding with an eligible non-academic partner.
Through a partnership between Health Research BC and Mitacs, successful applicants to Health Research BC’s Scholar, Health-Professional Investigator, and Innovation to Commercialization competitions have expedited access to Mitacs Accelerate funding.
