Elizabeth King

Dr. Elizabeth King is an MD with subspecialty training in Adult Infectious Diseases at the University of British Columbia. As a Michael Smith trainee, Dr. King will investigate the evolution of menopausal symptoms in women living with HIV. This project aims to provide much needed knowledge on the experience of menopause among women living with HIV and help inform a future randomized controlled trial of menopausal hormone therapy for this population.

Dr. King received her BSc in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Northern British Columbia, followed by her MD at the University of British Columbia. She has four first author publications, including recent papers in JAIDS and AIDS, and has received several honors and awards, including the CTN Mark Wainberg Fellowship Award and UBC Internal Medicine Most Collegial Resident Award. Her supervisors are Drs. Melanie Murray and Mona Loufty.
