Jenn Bossio

Dr. Jenn Bossio is a psychologist and Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of British Columbia within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and the Department of Urologic Sciences. Her research program focuses on the biological, psychological, and social aspects of human sexuality, with an emphasis on male sexuality. She collaborates with the UBC Sexual Health Lab and the Prostate Cancer Supportive Care (PCSC) Program to apply mindfulness-based therapy to help men and their partners deal with sexual difficulties after prostate cancer.

Based on Dr. Bossio’s postdoctoral work, she and her team were awarded the Movember Discovery Grant to lead a 3-year randomized clinical trial looking at mindfulness therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, and a control group to help address the sexual health needs of couples following prostate cancer treatments. Dr. Bossio’s work was also recognized by the Sexual Tipping Point Award from the Society for Sex Therapy and Research in 2018.

Dr. Bossio is passionate about the work she does and believes that evidence-based treatments can help individuals and couples achieve a happy, healthy life.
