Leah Lambert

Leah Lambert is a Registered Nurse with a PhD in Nursing from the University of British Columbia, where she studied adherence to adjuvant endocrine therapy after breast cancer. During her PhD, she was supported by a CIHR-STIHR Psychosocial Oncology Research Training and UBC doctoral fellowship. As a CIHR-MSFHR Health System Impact Postdoctoral Fellow, she has partnered with BC Cancer to address a critical challenge in the cancer system – improving transitions in care. My program of work is focused on identifying and mitigating barriers impeding effective care transitions for women diagnosed with breast cancer, including transferring follow-up to primary care settings.

She will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team on research and health system initiatives that lead to evidence-informed improvements in care, better patient outcomes, and increased system performance. My aim is to determine how to most effectively provide quality and efficient health services and deliver excellent person-centred care across the cancer care trajectory. She is excited to be immersed in the organizational culture and operations at BC Cancer while working toward evidenced-informed health system change.
