2018 Health Professional-Investigator competition: Guidelines now available

The MSFHR Health Professional-Investigator (HP-I) Program was launched in 2017 to develop BC’s research talent and help decrease the gap between health research and its implementation.

The awards are designed support health professionals who are actively involved in patient care to conduct and apply research that will directly impact patient health, health care, and/or the health system in BC.

Competition guidelines now available for the 2018 HP-I competition

As part of MSFHR’s commitment to continuous learning and improvement, the 2018 HP-I eligibility criteria have been revised to reflect feedback from the inaugural competition. This change enables applications from certified and regulated health professionals who are directly involved in patient care or public health practice, but may not be recognized by the BC Health Professions Act. For example, genetic counselors, clinical chemists, clinical geneticists and physician’s assistants.

Also new for 2018 is an increased emphasis on applicant mentorship and/or continuing research education.

Please see the 2018 HP-I competition page for guidelines, evaluation criteria and award requirements.
