Applications open: MSFHR Health Policy Fellowship

Applications are now open for MSFHR’s Health Policy Fellowship, a salary award for BC health researchers who want to contribute their research expertise to the health policy development process at the provincial government or health authority level.

The Health Policy Fellowship, designed for highly-qualified trainees at the post-doctoral level, provides a unique opportunity to support both evidence-informed policy and policy-relevant research by fostering collaboration between BC’s health researchers and health system decision-makers. The program is part of MSFHR’s suite of new programs, created to address priorities and gaps in BC’s health research and innovation ecosystem.

Successful applicants will undertake short-term (up to 12 month) policy assignments within the BC Ministry of Health or at one of the province’s health authorities. These assignments address BC’s health system priority areas and the First Nations Health Authority directives and mandate.

Since the first Health Policy Fellowship competition in late 2016 we have worked closely with the host organizations to refine the policy assignments and eligibility criteria. This is a great opportunity for outstanding post-doctoral level researchers to contribute their research expertise to the health policy-making process at the provincial government or health authority level.
