Dr. Ryan Morin obtained his MSc and PhD degrees at the University of British Columbia in the laboratory of Dr. Marco Marra at BC Cancer (Genome Sciences Centre). Morin is known for his early work using massively parallel sequencing to identify driver mutations in leukemias and lymphomas including histone modifiers such as EZH2 and KMT2D. His work has been published in world-class journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine, Nature Genetics, Cancer Cell and Nature.
Morin’s current research focus is using genome and transcriptome sequencing to discover novel drivers in a variety of human cancers and to use circulating tumour DNA (ctDNA) to better characterize the genetic alterations that contribute to tumour progression and treatment resistance.
